What are dried edible flowers?
Dried edible flowers have one major advantage: they last a very long time! Immediately after harvesting, the flowers are dried in special dehydrators. Thanks to the slow drying process, their colors remain beautifully intact. They do shrink slightly, making them ideal for delicate decorations.
In our 'Dried Edible Flowers' category, we distinguish two types: whole flowers and sprinkles.
1. Whole dried flowers
Some flowers are dried whole, such as:
- Lavender
- Violets
- Marigolds
- Cornflowers
These whole flowers are perfect for:
- On cupcakes
- On cakes
- In cocktails
- Sweet tables / high tea
2. Sprinkles: dried flower petals
Besides whole flowers, we also have flower sprinkles. These are individual, dried petals in a variety of colors. Think of:
- Floral Confetti – a cheerful mix of flower petals
- Cornflower Sprinkle – smaller petals for a culinary effect
- Happy Sprinkle – cheerful colours for a festive effect
Sprinkles are ideal for sprinkling over dishes. Use them for example:
- On cakes
- Through salads or bowls
- In yogurt or granola
- As a topping on lattes, cocktails or ice cream
